Holocaust Stamp Gallery
from around the world

St. Kevin Elementary School

Miami, Florida, (1999)

St. Kevin Catholic school is located in Miami, Florida, United States.
It is headed by our Pastor, Reverend Cioffi and our Principle Mrs. Minagorri.
Our school has grades Pre-k through 8th grade.
The pictures that have been sent to the Holocaust Stamp Gallery have been made by the students of St. Kevin. Mrs Khawand's classes, the sixth and the eighth graders read Behind the Bedroom Wall and The Cage, respectively. The fifth grade students in Mrs. Jewett's class read Number the Stars.
Each of these books inspired our kids to draw these pictures.
In conjunction with drawing pictures, our sixth graders researched information on aspects of the Jewish religion and gave presentations.
They wrote essays on their feelings concerning the Holocaust. They visited the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach.

Hopefully, through education, our students will gain a greater understanding of what the Holocaust was all about, and they will eventually be part of a society that will ensure that this sad event in our history will not happen again.
