Module 1 - Introductions

Young-shin's Introduction:
My name is Young-shin Kim and I'm from South Korea. I am a pretty easy-going and fun loving person. I'm studying in art.(water color painting and oil painting) I'm living in Utah.It is very dry here. I'm living in an apartment. Because I came here only two weeks ago,I don't know here very well. However, I love here so much. There are five people in my family,they are father,mother,sister,brother and I. When I have free time I usally draw pictures or go to the movies. I really like to go to the movies.
 

Merav's introduction:

 Hi . My name is Merav Tzabari . I'm a second year student in Talpiot college . I'm studying to become an English teacher for the elementry school . I'm a regular person at the age of 22 i'm responsible and serious when i'm suppose to be .i enjoy working with kids since I remember , thuse I decided to become a teacher . I live in Rehovot which is a lovely city near Rishon Le Zion and about forty minutes from Tel-Aviv. I'm the third girl in my family , I have an older sister who isn't in Israel now because she is in Australia . My older brother is working with computers therefore I know more about computers then I knew before . my younger brother is waiting for his service in the military , and my youngest sister is in the elementry school she is 10 years old . On my free time I like to be with my family freinds and boyfreind

Hi Young shin Kim

I was assigned to write a scanning exercise for you to do ,  I hope  it wiil not be too difficult . In scanning as you probably know,  you don't have to read each and every introduction .
First : how many people don't live in a city ?  Second : find how many students have two sisters ?

 If it's too difficult to find you can look at these hints :
1) Search for students who didn't write "CITY"
2) Search for the word "SISTERS"

I read that you enjoy going to the movies , there are students who enjoy going to the movies too , find how many are they . (hint: usualiy you'll find it at the section of hobbies at the end ,( please write to me how long it took you to find it )

Module 2 - Surfing the Net

Here is Young-shin's reaction to surfing the net:It is really like a sufing in the sea, there are so many things to see and the more I find interesting information, the more I want to search many other things. It is really fun.

Module 4 - Newspaper Assignment

Merav made a newspaper for Sheena called the Sheena Sun
her assignment for Sheena was
This lesson is based on the crayon newspaper I made "The Sheena Sun " .
 There are two main tasks , answer the second one if you have enough time .
 Task 1) Look at the ABC News and the CNN News ,
 try to find the same story in  these two newspapers .

 A) Read the headlines and the introductions,write a least
 4 key words which you can find in both newspapers ,
( are they similar?) .

 B) Ask at least 4 questions ( for each introduction)
 whose answers you think  will be written in the article
( notice if you can ask the same questions) .

c) Read the rest of the article and try to answer the
 questions .

D)Compare between the two INTRODUCTIONS , which has more
specific information?
AN EXTRA ACTIVITY: go to the funny pages - The  U.S.A today
 choose one movie which interests you . Find the main
 characters and write two or three sentences about the
 movie.
