Assignments and Assessment of the Course

 

In order to pass this course, you are required to complete all the modules with their assignments. The assignments are varied; some stress using the tools of the Internet, others improving reading and writing skills, some are group discussions via the internet and others are pairwork assignments through the internet.

 

 

 

We hope you enjoy the course and find it a good starting point for using the Internet in your own studying and teaching!

 

The assignments are slightly different for each of the 3 groups participating in the project

  • 1. Write a biographical introduction about yourself
    2. Correspond with other members of the group, send copies to on-line instructor
    3. Complete the exercise sent to you by your partner, return them to your partner and on-line instructor

  • 1.Complete the on-line newspaper assignment
    2. Write a summary of the article you receive back to your partner and on-line instructor
    3. Complete the exercise on newspapers you will receive from your on-line partners and email it back to your on-line partner and c.c. to on-line instructor.
    4. Complete the treasure hunt exercise and come up with criteria with your partner and collegues about what makes a good web page.

Teacher Trainees

On the one hand you have an easier job than your partners the EFL students, you don't have to learn English -just teach it :)

 

1. fill in all the pre and post questionnaires, on attitudes and literacy skills
2. keep a weekly dialogue journal with your on-line instructor
3. actively participate in our class online discussions
4. write each week to both your pupil in israel and your colleague in Washington

you are not responsible for the actual writing of the webfolio page which is really a portfolio of the students development and learning in the course, you only contribute to the webfolio

3. Prepare a lesson plan using the newspaper page for intermediate students, send this to me. I would advise doing this through using Crayon as your model newspaper. Choose one individual exercise from your lesson and send it to your on-line partners. Assess the assignment and return it to your partner with a c.c. to us
