My partner Adrienne wants to visit Venice, so what better "present" can I give her than a virtual trip to Venice! Let's start our tour by getting our bearings and finding out about the famous sites in Venice. There is information here about all the tourist attractions including how to get around on water buses and gondalos..you can't actually hear the music, but you can get a feel of what it's like being in Venice. I'll sing for you O salomia ... http://www.goporta.com/venice/RialtoBridge.htm
and yes this is the famous Rialto bridge- as Shakespeare;s character Shylock would say "Oft on the Rialto... Now in order to undestand something about Venice's history, I suggest we go to this site http://www.boglewood.com/timeline/home.html
At this stage it might be a good idea to take a walking tour of Venice.
I know you're tired but while we're in venice we should try and see as
much as possible.
While searching for places for you to visit in Venice I learnt that
the first Jewish ghetto is in Venice and you can still visit it.
I hope you enjoyed the tour- who knows maybe one day we can really goto Venice together. together! |
