"WOMEN AND THE HOLOCAUST"

"Every Jew, regardless of gender, was equally victim in the Holocaust." Many of women and children had deported more frequently than men were. Jewish women and children were one of Nazi's targets because they had no rights. Both Jewish women and children were not allowed to live. They had to die in any circumstances. Women often were separated from their children including newborns. They were treated so badly by Nazis and they did not care if the women were sick or hurt. Jewish women suffered a lot of pain and fears. They were not able to protect themselves because they did not have the right to speak up or stand up for themselves.

"NA'AMAT ISRAEL: STRIVING FOR WOMEN'S
RIGHTS FROM PRE-STATE DAYS TO THE
PRESENT."

Na'amat is an Israel women's organization to help women to have equal rights in Jerusalem. Na'amat was established in 1921 and it was very successful.
"When the State of Israel was declared 50 years ago, Na'amat stated it aims: To stimulate and develop the working women's own power, to strengthen her position so that she
can take her place as a partner with equal rights and equal duties in the Jewish labor community of the Jewish State…These have been the ideals of the women workers' movement ever since the days of the first pioneer women, early in the century."

THE LEGAL CENTER FOR ISRAEL WOMEN
"The Struggle Against Violence Against Women"

The Legal Center has goals for women in Israel to have justice and equality. It has increased more awareness of discriminatory practices against women and helps them to fight for their equal rights. It addresses five women's rights topics, they are: 1) Employment 2) Sexual Harassment Law 3) Legal proceedings 4) Trafficking of Women 5) Family Law. If women in Israel have problems, they could get help from The Legal Center to protect themselves from dangerous situations and from being discriminated.

       JEWISH WOMEN OF VALOR

BELLA ABZUG
"Women will change the nature of power rather than power changing the nature of women."
By Bella Abzug

Women of Valor is an educational program to celebrate
the lives and accomplishments of Jewish women. The
purposes of this program for outstanding Jewish women is to  encourage them to be part of their culture.
It is supported by various of Jewish and women's national  organizations. Bella Abzug was a strongly feminist; she also was a congresswoman at age of fifty for six years. She died at the age of seventy-seven in March 1998. Many mourners were mourning over her death and people still do mourn over her death nowadays.

FEMINISM & JUDAISM
"Outside the Jerusalem courthouse where Moshe Feiglin and Shmuel Sacket were sentenced after being found guilty on the preposterous charge of sedition. Women In Green and others express their continued support of the defendants' civil rights, including their democratic right of civil disobedience."

A quote "If you're so liberated, why aren't you happy?" It had affected feminism in Israel. Women in Israel do want to be the equal by having higher salaries, more power and a variety of career choices. Women also have the right to file divorce and fight for child custody. Since men do have the power and control, they could learn to allow women have the power and control of their own lives. Most women have to stay at home and be a housewife. They will have to clean up the house and take care of children. They are not able to fulfill their dreams.  It is time for them to reach their dreams by fighting for their rights.
