         Purpose:


         This list is open to teachers from kindergarden to grade 6.
         It is concerned with the teaching of mathematics from the
         Kindergarten to the 6th grade.

         Examples of appropriate topics for discussion:

         - problems in teaching mathematics
         - dealing with problems
         - children speak about their mathematical thoughts
         - interviews with children about mathematical issues
         - pupil dialogues on mathematical issues
         - pupil-teacher dialogues
         - opportunties and ways to develop childrens' mathematical
           thinking

         We welcome ideas for discussion of any issue you find
         relevant for your work in mathematics teaching..
